Statement From Delegate Barbara Comstock On The Anniversary of September 11, 2001
McLean, VA- Today, Delegate Barbara Comstock (R-34) released the following statement marking the anniversary of September 11, 2001:
"On the anniversary of September 11, 2001, we will always remember the unimaginable tragedy and evil that impacted our nation, as well as our own local community. We pray for all the husbands, wives, fathers, children, friends, and loved ones we lost and keep them always in our hearts and minds."
"Today, we honor and mourn the passing of the heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our freedom in this great nation. We honor our wounded who now struggle and live with their sacrifices every day. We are forever grateful to our servicemen and women who have nobly sacrificed for their fellow man since that tragic day. Because of them we are truly the home of the free and the brave."
"This morning, I encourage everyone to participate in a moment of silence beginning at 8:46 AM EDT to honor the victims who died as a result of these horrific acts of terror. A statewide moment of silence is also planned for 9:37 a.m. - marking the time American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon."
"May God always bless the United States of America and all those who defend her."
