Absentee Voting Begins Today,
September 21
Dear
Friends,
I
would like to take this opportunity to remind you about important dates and the
options available to Virginia voters so that we all have the opportunity to cast
votes in the upcoming election.
Deadline
to register to vote
Monday,
October 15th
Deadline
to request an absentee ballot by mail
Tuesday,
October 30th
Absentee voting begins at the Fairfax Government Center
and the Loudoun Voter Registration Office on Friday, September 21.
Absentee voting begins at Satellite locations on
Wednesday, October 17th in Fairfax County and on Monday, October 22 in
Loudoun County (details below).
Last
day for in-person absentee voting
Saturday,
November 3rd
ALL
ballots MUST be received by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day
Polls
are open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6th

Acceptable Forms of Voter ID
Voters arriving to the
polls without ID will be required to vote a provisional ballot and will have
until noon on the Friday after the election to deliver a copy of identification
to their locality's electoral board in order for their provisional ballot to be
counted.
Acceptable forms of
identification include the following:
- Virginia voter registration card
- Social Security card
- Valid Virginia driver's license

Military And
Overseas Registration
If
you are a member of the military on active duty, an eligible spouse
or dependent or a U.S. citizen temporarily residing outside the U.S. you may be
eligible to receive an absentee ballot by completing the Federal Post Card
Application (FCPA).

Voters
with Disabilities
All
Fairfax County polling places and absentee voting locations are accessible to
all and are equipped with electronic touch screen voting machines.
Any
voter who is physically disabled or who is age 65 or older may request to vote
curbside (outside the polls) at his/her polling place on Election Day. Curbside
voters should ask someone to alert the election officers that assistance is
needed outside the polls, and/or call the office at
