Richmond, VA – Today, Delegate Comstock’s House Bill 551,
to extend the Telework Tax Credit until 2015,
passed unanimously.
Delegate
Comstock released the following statement:
“I am pleased with the overwhelming
support for this bill and I appreciate the opportunity to have this telework
tax exemption extended so that more employees and employers can take advantage
of telework policies. Already we
have over 174 companies utilizing this credit.
Teleworking
is a 21st century workplace option that can reduce traffic congestion and air
pollution, as well as cut gasoline consumption and dependency on foreign oil.
It also helps provide a more family friendly workplace that gives Moms
and Dads more time at home and less time sitting in traffic. Employers get the benefit of increased
productivity, improved morale, fewer sick leave days used, better worker
retention, and reduced costs for office space. This bill is a win-win solution for employers and employees
and I look forward to working on this initiative.”
