McLean, VA - Delegate Comstock is holding a Town Hall Meeting on July 29, 2010 at 7:30pm at the Great Falls Library. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the Virginia Department of Transportation's current plan to construct dual left-turn lanes at the intersection of Route 7 and Georgetown Pike.
Delegate Comstock, along with Congressman Frank Wolf, our local Supervisor and state Senator are all opposed to VDOT's current plan. Along with Rep. Wolf, Delegate Comstock recently sent letters to Sharon Bulova, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, and Sean Connaughton, Secretary of the Virginia Department of Transportation, expressing opposition to the plan and highlighting the recent resolutions from the Great Falls Citizens Association as well as the McLean Citizens Association, opposing the dual lane turn proposal. You can view both letters on Delegate Comstock's website at http://www.delegatecomstock.com.
Members of the Great Falls Citizens Association's Transportation Committee will also be attending to discuss the issue. Please feel free to call or contact Delegate Comstock's office on this issue if you are unable to attend the Town Hall meeting.
