Dear Friend,
I was just
informed that VDOT has decided to postpone their project on the Beach Mill
Bridge in Great Falls until next summer. I have heard from many of you and share
your concerns regarding the project's impact on school bus routes, commutes to
work, as well impacts to cost and scheduling delays. Here is the
latest message I received from a VDOT spokesperson:
"We have
decided to ultimately delay the work until next summer. We don't anticipate work
conflicts with the Route 7 project and will be sure to coordinate construction
schedules to mitigate any potential concerns."
VDOT also informed us that
they would hold a citizen information meeting in the Fall to discuss the
project with the community and address questions, so I will continue to work
with you and VDOT to facilitate this effort and make sure you are made aware of
this meeting beforehand.
