Delegate Barbara Comstock Marks The Start Of Hanukkah

MCLEAN- Delegate Barbara Comstock (34-VA) issued the following statement in honor of Hanukkah and the Festival of Lights on Saturday, December 8th.

"As our Jewish friends here and around the world prepare to light the menorah at sundown, my family and I would like to wish all my Jewish friends and neighbors a Happy Hanukkah and a joyful celebration of God's presence in our lives which gives inspiration and strength to all.

At this time, we celebrate the perseverance of the Jewish people and their liberation from oppression as well as freedom of worship and of religion. We also remember that the story of Hanukkah is one of a great miracle. The miracle that a small jar of oil, only enough to burn for one day, lasted for eight days.

The light of the menorah has always been a source of strength and inspiration to the Jewish people and to us all. God Bless and Happy Hanukkah."
